2nd annual Sounds for Scoliosis to take place 06/26/2010!!!!!

Local bands are on a mission of its own: to continue to raise public awareness of scoliosis.

The second annual “Sound for Scoliosis” will take place on june 26, 2010 from 7 p.m. to midnight at Runco's in Olyphant, PA
Tickets are $10 per person and $15 per couple.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the National Scoliosis Foundation, a patient-led non-profit organization dedicated to helping people understand spinal deformities.
Scoliosis is a spinal deformity that impacts a person’s quality of life by putting pressure on the heart, diminishing lung capacity, and limiting physical activity. The worst effects of scoliosis can be prevented through early detection and advancements in treatment.
Event organizer Lucia Peregrim, who co-owns Ricochet’s Rapid Detail on Fig Street, Scranton, with her husband David, explained how “Sound for Scoliosis” developed.
“Basically, ‘Sound for Scoliosis’ was originally founded by myself and members of the band, Faithful Aggression in 2009. This year for 2010 - I have decided to open this up to some of the well known cover bands as well as the original music seenso that we can continue to raise the awareness.

What follows are my best estimate and options of the products I have found that work well in maintaining a top running vehicle.
Cleaning: There seems to be a lot of money to be made in the car cleaning industry because everyone seems to have a product. Quality cleaning and polish products include Turtle Wax, NuFinish, and several products by Meguiar. The specific Meguiar products I like best would be their number 7 and number 26 products for polish and wax. Eagle One is a popular brand in many stores and works well too. Zymol is a German product which carries the appeal of its origin and has a price to match. I did not find this product to be superior to the ones mentioned though Zymol gets good reviews. Combination products that include wash and wax don't really work that well. One product that keeps shine looking good is something called "instant detailer" by Meguiar. This product is applied after a car wash and takes about 10-15 minutes to spray on and wipe off. It holds shine and has the gloss of a fresh wax.
Windows: The best way to clean a vehicles window, both inside and out, is to consider what sort of rag or towel will be used to wipe off the cleaning agent or product. I recommend using regular paper towels which can be purchased almost anywhere. Sam's Club sells them in large bundles for a great price. Some people have a preference of using microfiber towels instead of paper towels so try them both and see what you prefer.Avoid Ammonia in any window cleaning product because it can harm tinted windows and creates an actual breathing problem inside a closed vehicle when doing interior windows. I favor two products: Invisible Glass and Sprayway. Both of these spray products work well if one does not spray on too much at a time. In addition, using lots of elbow grease is essential to removing streaks. For buildup inside a window, believe it or not, a fresh eraser from a black or green boards work very well.
Interior Products: For interiors of leather, be careful and do not use strong cleaners which can stain or change the color of the leather. KaBoom is a great cleaner but not for leather. Lexol has long been a favorite-it's a two step cleaner and conditioner but more recently I have been using products by Leather Masters and Meguiars. Leather Masters makes both a soft and strong cleaner depending on the individual needs of the seats and interior while Meguiar's gold class spray is a general all around good product. The secret on interiors is clean often enough to avoid accumulation of grime and dirt, especially over the winter months.
Tires: Without a doubt, tires are the most important single component of any motor vehicle. Tires come in a variety of configurations for a number of driving needs. For example, there are all season tires, high performance tires, summer tires, and tires designed for certain motor sports. I prefer Michelin for all season use. Typically Michelins are higher priced than other tires but they seem to do more. Some of the best vehicles designed for maximum ride and performance aimed at general or family use come with Michelin tires. I would recommend the Michelin Primacy MXV4 which has a 60,000 tread ware guarantee and is strong on both dry and wet pavement. For pure performance, I would pick the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires or maybe something by Pirelli or Dunlop.
However, these tires are not meant to be used in snow and of course, ice. For vehicles that excel in performance and hard driving situations, many people have two sets of tires, one for the winter season and sport tires for spring and summer driving. Continental makes a good tire for general use and another good pick would be Cooper tire products. I have not had good luck with Goodyear Eagle tires-they often seem to go out of round and a few years ago I don't think I would have endorsed General tires either. Sears and other companies carry name brand tires at reduced prices with the store's own brand name or label. Michelin tires, for example, are sold at Sears under another name but they are still a good tire.
Car Audio Products: Many cars come with outstanding audio systems as standard or optional equipment. For sound in a car consider first, the budget because there are products to fit almost any expenditure. Next, decide if the products are going to be professionally installed or home installed. Crutchfield is an online source that offers quality products, professional support, and competitive prices. Large Stores like Best Buy are fine but it's wise to shop the specials and the backup on service. Be careful with extended warranty protection because it's often more of a profit point than an actual need. Some areas have local car audio shops that must make their reputation each day by offering quality installs and good prices. Our community has one such store called Audio Express. One can often improve the sound quality by upgrading part of a factory system, adding a subwoofer, or enhancing the speakers. Again, Crutchfield has a complete guide for product upgrade. Besides online help, Crutchfield offers 1-800 help that's personal and very effective. It is always nice to talk to a human when you call and have multiple questions about a product and not an automated machine.
I hope these tips and recommendations of the particular products will help make decisions easier and increase your quality of experiences with your car. I have found out all of this information the hard way, so one can believe that I have tried not one but many different products to cope with my needs of high quality and demand when it comes to perfection.
